Hi, I'm Mike or Mich'. I'm Franco-American, meaning Franco-from-France, not Franco-Cajun. Too bad for me, huh? But I'm still proud of it and of our shared language. (Learning to speak Cajun, that would be a beautiful thing!) I'm learning to play the accordion (Cajun, of course), and that's all for now.
Etiquette question: is it preferred to post in English here?

Can anyone tell me how one starts a new topic/search???? I am not what one would call, "Computer person" since I don't know much about them. But, I like Cajun sites. I would like to post something, and have searched the site without learning much of anything. Thanks.

Hi, mrrhum. I would imagine English is the preferred language, though I don't know for sure. But I know just enough Cajun French to get by. Working on learning more. My name is Mary. I'm originally from the Eunice/Mamou area in Louisiana. My grandfather was a well-known fiddle player and singer in his day. Unfortunately, he died almost 30 years ago. I started the website in my signature partly in his memory. :D Anyone else here from the Eunice/Mamou area?

Anaïs and Didier are very French names. I don't know any Anaïses, but I have a good friend in France named Didier. I've known Didier since he was a baby! --Mike
